We’re located in St. Louis, Missouri, home to world-class plant and life science research institutions and numerous globally competitive companies that span the value chain of converting plants to product. In May of 2009, the Nidus Board of Directors approved a new direction for Nidus Center focused on leveraging these strengths to help make St. Louis a center of excellence for plant and life sciences.
Nidus is forming a Partnership with the corporate community to find and assess technologies that expand the productivity of plants to provide food, energy, and valuable bio-materials; or to harvest, process, and deliver plant-derived products. This Partnership provides market access for early stage technology and is organized to attract experienced entrepreneurs and capital to the region. Key to the Partnership will be creation of a pool of investment resources to help move technology out of research institutions onto the path of commercialization. At the end of five years, the goal is to have created additional start-up and licensing opportunities for the region and increased the availability of talent and capital in St. Louis.
Please stay tuned for more information and a new website in the coming months as we create a more vibrant plant and life science community in St. Louis.
